In response to a live brief from Amnesty International, we campaigned
to raise awareness of the manufacture and sales of faulty life-jackets
to refugees looking to seeking asylum in countries that require water transport. These life-jackets are lined with absorbent materials, such as sponge, paper and bubble wrap, all of which are non-buoyant, ergo decreasing their chances of survival. Creating a life jacket inspired
installation, open to everyone, we asked the public to sign our petition #ONBOARD and blow up a balloon, symbolising buoyancy, to support the welcome refugees campaign.
